OUR ACTIONS
The ESSCA's solidarity association is surrounded by commited and passionated members who take concrete actions on environmental and social issues
Collection for the Secours Populaire Français
Several times a month, a team of about ten people roam the streets of Angers, ringing at the doors of the inhabitants to ask for and collect clothes, food and hygiene products.

All this collection is then entrusted to the Secours Populaire of Angers and redistributed with those who need it most.

This project was launched in November 2018 and the first collection was made on the 29th of the same month. In no less than three months, more than 30 kg of food and 130 clothes were donated by the city's inhabitants.

Collections continue to be carried out regularly and this project remains one of the symbols of our association to this day.

Implementation of Ecosia
on our campuses' computers
Aware of the global challenge of climate change, the ASE has decided to act on its own scale by asking ESSCA to install an eco-responsible search engine on all the school's computers.
The operation of this search engine is simple: each search performed generates benefits for the company that are used to reforest certain areas of the world.
In this way, our objective is to work with ESSCA to green our campuses and reduce their carbon footprint.
Year-end harvest
Every time summer and the end of the course approach, many ESSCA students return their apartments to find their family accommodation or go abroad.

This departure is often accompanied by a question: what to do with the food we have left?

Unopened pasta bags, cans or unopened bottles, in order to avoid any waste, the ASE has set up, at the end of the 2018-19 school year, collection bins at the entrance to the Angers campus so that students can drop off products they could not eat.

Very simple to set up and particularly effective, this project will have enabled us to recover almost 10 kg of foodstuffs out of 2019, which we have taken care to give to the Secours Populaire d'Angers.

Print'Hand
The ASE also wishes to be involved in awareness-raising projects, in particular disability awareness in France.
This is why, on March 20th, the students of the association engaged on stands alongside the social inclusion department of ESSCA and the FEDEH (Student Federation for a Dynamic Study and Employment with a Disability).
The objective: to discover in a fun way, through workshops and exchanges, the challenges of disability in France.
Blood donations
There is currently no product or drug that can be substituted for human blood. According to the French Blood Establishment, 10,000 blood donations are needed every day to treat patients (surgery, blood disease, bleeding...).

This is why the members of the Aix campus have twice partnered with the "Don du sang" organization to collect donations from ESSCA students.

The first time, on March 19, 2019, 21 students visited the "Don du sang" premises. At the second edition, on November 18, 2019, the number of donors increased to 24.

Collection with the Food Bank
of Maine et Loire
The Food Bank of Maine et Loire is 160 volunteers who work daily to collect and redistribute food to the most needy.
On 29 and 30 November last, the ASE joined forces with the Food Bank for the collections. Over two-hour periods, our volunteers took turns in different supermarkets in Angers.
The 14 participants collected 1,735 tonnes, an increase of 4% compared to previous years.
Meetings with high-school students from Maine et Loire
On February 1, 2020, in partnership with ESSCA and the Entretiens de l'Excellence, a meeting with high school students from Maine et Loire will take place on the Angers campus.

The objective is to promote higher education in all its forms (universities, business schools, engineering schools, etc.).

More than 300 high school students from all over the region are expected and presentations from fourteen sectors of activity such as tourism, agriculture or research, presented by professionals, will allow students to project themselves into different professions and consider studying in higher education.

At this event, the objective of the ASE members is to share the experience of a business school student and what life can be like in higher education.

The Bacchantes 2019
Aix-en-Provence
On November 17, 2019, our presidents of the Aix campus, accompanied by a super team of 10 Esscaïens, participated in the Bacchantes race, a race against prostate cancer. This was the second edition for the city of Aix-en Provence, which raised 31,000 €.
The Bacchantes is a race organized to help fund prostate cancer research. More than 50,000 new cases are diagnosed each year in France, making prostate cancer the 3rd leading cause of cancer death in France.
For each registration, 10€ is donated to research. Only one rule, being at least 16 years old. The association is located in many cities (Reims, Paris, Aix-en-Provence, Montpellier, Toulouse), which will have raised 81100 euros during the year 2019!
